It was not long ago that I got to spend 48 hours in Austin, Texas. Austin is an energetic and vibrant city with a lot to offer. From sightseeing to outdoor activities, there is something for everyone. Whether you’re looking for a fun day out or want to explore the unique culture and heritage of Austin, there is always something new to discover.

During my weekend trip I had things like going to the Longhorn Caverns, Bat sight-seeing at the Congress Bridge, the museum of weird , the Cathedral of Junk and the Alamo Drafthouse on my list, as well as the State Capitol.

And let’s not forget the most important part of the journey – the food. I’m here for all the taco’s and all the BBQ (we ate at Cooper’s and it was AMAZING!).

Most important Blue Cat Cafe – where you get to pet kitties and eat at the same time. For those of us who can’t have cats because our roommate is “allergic” (those are super sarcastic air quotes) but love kitties anyways, this is a big deal and not the usual. Also, it’s vegan. So my vegetarian and vegan friends will doubly enjoy this.
Whether you’re in town for a short visit or planning an extended stay this city has something for everyone. I will always encourage you to spend 48 hours in Austin, Texas. Explore the city’s diverse neighborhoods, sample some of the best food in the country, or take advantage of its numerous parks and outdoor activities – whatever you choose to do in Austin is sure to be an unforgettable experience!
AUTHOR’S NOTE: It is with a heavy heart that I report that the Blue Cat Cafe has closed it’s doors due to some controversy and after a Reddit deep dive I’m kind of sad that I was so enthused by this place.
