How It All Started
Once upon a time, in a small town nestled in the heart of America, a girl dreamed of exploring the world. One day, this girl would become Jinx the Nomad. She always had an insatiable curiosity and an unquenchable thirst for adventure, but life’s responsibilities kept her grounded for many years.
By 2009, she started a blog. Though fashion brought eyes to her page, her favorite articles were about travel. She shared tales of weekend getaways, hiking trips, and camping adventures. Her stories resonated with readers who admired her spirit and passion for exploration.
How The Blog Got Started
In 2019, still blogging periodically about travel and having broken up with her partner she bought a travel trailer, and embraced a nomadic lifestyle. Her travels were filled with breathtaking landscapes, fascinating people, and a fair share of misadventures. Whether it was getting lost in the vast expanse of the Mojave Desert, battling a sudden thunderstorm in the Great Plains, or encountering a curious bear during a hike in the Rockies, her journeys were never short of excitement and unpredictability.
Where did “Jinx The Nomad” Come from?
During one of these misadventures, she earned her nickname Jinx the Nomad. While camping in the Midwest, a sudden rainstorm caused part of her travel trailer’s roof to cave in. About a week after fixing it, COVID took over the country, closing down campgrounds and grounding her in her cousin’s backyard. Although the pandemic never officially ended, once it was safer to travel, Jinx had a serious accident that totaled both her tow vehicle and her travel trailer. Thankfully, her dog was not with her, and she was not injured. At this point, she thought, “I must be jinxed.”
From that moment on, she embraced the name “Jinx” as a badge of honor, and thus Jinx The Nomad she became. She realized her misadventures made for the best stories, and her readers loved her honesty and humor. Through hard work, determination, and a lot of saving, she bought a new vehicle and trailer to continue traveling.

To this day, Jinx captivates audiences far and wide with her stories. Through her blog, social media, and in-person storytelling sessions at campgrounds and community centers, she inspires others to embrace the unknown, find joy in the journey, and laugh at life’s little mishaps.
